About
Taylor Bello is a copy editor, proofreader, and writer based in North Carolina. Her professional experience in writing and editing began at age 13, when she got her first job freelance reporting for her hometown's only newspaper.
After nearly a decade as a reporter, she officially made the switch to copyediting as a Dow Jones News Fund Copy Editing intern at Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers before taking a position editing primarily scientific and medical articles written by researchers and medical professionals. These articles have been published in the American Academy of Pediatrics journals, Pediatrics and Hospital Pediatrics, as well as the journal Sociological Science and the American Animal Hospital Association’s magazine, Trends. She has also edited academic curricula and books, such as Modernizing America's Electricity Infrastructure (MIT Press 2017), Guidebook on Enteral Medication Administration (ASPEN 2018), Fight Songs: A Story of Love and Sports in a Complicated South (Blair Publishing 2021), and Lessons from North Carolina: Race, Religion, Tribe, and the Future of America (Blair Publishing 2023).
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in psychology from the University of Florida. She is currently open for freelance and long-term projects.
